The project was contracted by the local government in one of the major CIS cities. The local authorities required a modern and high-tech data centre to provide IT support for events held for residents and guests of the city. The urgency of the task increased dramatically approaching a large international festival.
Engineers of Astergo evaluated the task and determined that a modular data centre was the optimal solution. Modularity fulfils two main customer requirements: speed and ease of assembly. All parts - data centre modules - are delivered to the site in containers and then quickly and easily assembled. In the future, such a data centre can be scaled up by "building up" new modules.
The choice of contractor was made in favour of Astergo, which was able to provide high quality solutions as well as the required speed of delivery.
The urban data centre required 30 server cabinets and a structured cabling system. Astergo supplied and installed all the necessary engineering systems: fire alarm, gas fire extinguishing, video surveillance and access control. To speed up the project, some of the modules were assembled directly at the production site.
The new data center was planned to be set up within the shortest possible timeframe.
The data centre was implemented in five months and became one of the largest modular data centres for the public sector on the CIS market.
